Membership & Certification
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) has offices in North America, Europe and Japan and chapters around the globe – the Association is networked to respond to the needs of anti-fraud professionals everywhere. Our Members support our mission of reducing the incidence of fraud and white-collar crime through prevention and education. As fraud becomes increasingly more prevalent and complicated in the 21st century, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners is continually researching and developing new publications, self-study products, and cutting-edge fraud training conferences designed to educate and prepare fraud examiners for the challenges they face. There is no better time than today to enhance your career and invest in your future by becoming a Member of the Association

There’s no better time to join than RIGHT NOW.
The South African Chapter
The need to raise the standard of fraud examination in South Africa, and for a professional body - which was not limited to a specific profession such as accounting or law - resulted in the establishment of a local chapter. The mission of the local chapter is to provide a community environment in which local forensic examination practitioners can associate. This chapter is a collection of individuals in South Africa from all industries and professions, who have a single goal in mind; the reduction of white-collar crime in South Africa.
While we are an official chapter of the International Association, it is important to note that membership of the local chapter is optional and separate from that of the Association. We have Interest Groups in different regions and Provinces to increase service delivery to our members. These groups meet regularly to promote network and training opportunities in their regions.
The ACFE encourages Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs) and Associate members to support local chapters. Chapter participation gives you the opportunity to meet other anti-fraud professionals in your area who are facing the same challenges you are. Sharing insights, techniques and experience, in addition to promoting fraud awareness in your community, is invaluable to the global fight against fraud. You may join the local chapter at any stage in the process, or even opt to only join the local chapter. Local membership gives you access to all the SA Chapter benefits but not to ACFE International benefits or the CFE Exam.
Sa Chapter Membership Benefits
Local Chapter membership provides a number of benefits. ACFE chapters are organised by members who reside in a particular geographic region and share an interest in the detection and deterrence of fraud. Chapters act as local agents of the ACFE, providing continued support for members worldwide. Take advantage of this resource and enjoy benefits including:
· Networking Opportunities
Members attending chapter meetings will have the chance to network with experienced professionals, and other fraud fighters, in addition to participating in local programs and events that promote awareness in the profession. Members have the opportunity to learn and share techniques, learn best practices and expand their skills
· Mentoring Opportunities
Chapter membership is made up of fraud fighters with minimal experience to those with a wealth of anti-fraud knowledge. If you are new to the profession, chapter involvement is a great way to learn from the best. If you are an experienced professional, membership in a chapter gives you the chance to mentor the next generation of anti-fraud professionals.
· Quality, Affordable Local Training
All chapter meetings and training events are planned by ACFE members and reflect what is relevant to your development as a member of the ACFE. These meetings offer members the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable information which they will be able to apply to their jobs. Chapters will also conduct full-day seminars offering a range of speakers and topics to assist with developing your skills, ensuring that you are up to date with the newest trends in the market. Members can earn CPE credits when attending chapter events:
· Regular discussion forums on issues relevant to the local environment;
· A training framework with “how to” guidance and formal standards;
· Practical training
· Technical updates
· Workshops on fraud examinations;
· Seminars and Conferences
· ACFE SA is currently researching a Learnership
· SAQA Accreditation
The ACFE SA has successfully accredited the ACFE Certified Fraud Examiners International exam with SAQA at a NQF level 7. This makes the designation the first of its kind to be both internationally and locally recognized as the standard for a Forensic Investigator / Auditor. This certification is available to all candidates who successfully completes the CFE Exam (International version) and are members of the SA Chapter
· Continuing Professional Education
Fulfilling your continuing education (CPE) requirements for the CFE or other designations is easy since we (annually) offer various learning events, all of which are pre-approved for CPE by the ACFE.
· Promoting Fraud Awareness In Your Community
Chapters enable members to be personally involved in the anti-fraud profession through training that also meets the needs of the local community.
· Leadership Roles Available
If you are looking to become a leader in the anti-fraud community, chapter participation is a great place to start. Serving on the Regional Committees or the Chapter Board of Directors provides the opportunity to develop your leadership skills while serving your community in a rewarding capacity.
